We are pleased to announce that our Junior Girls’ Choir scored 92 marks in the 76th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in Secondary School Choir – Foreign Language – Girls – Second Division – Junior (Age 15 or under) Class and was hence awarded the 2nd Place and Gold Award.
The Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, one of the most well-known and prestigious music competitions in Hong Kong, had been suspended for several years since the epidemic. Our choir members were looking forward to sharing our excitement with our counterparts in the live performance. Among twenty-one top local school choirs, our excellent performance on two contrasting pieces, As Torrents in Summer by Edward Elgar and Celebrate Music by Joseph M. Martin, accompanied by Ms Francoise Chu and conducted by Ms Mavis Ip, was recognized with the comment “a choir with great potential” by reputable adjudicators, Mr. Bryan Husband and Prof. Stojan Kuret.
This incredible accomplishment is a product of hard work and commitment, as well as our school’s seamless support. Congratulations again to all the choir members and teachers in charge on this major milestone!
